Springlines at Tunbridge Wells Museum and Art Gallery
June 14 - October 14
The Springlines show, featuring the art of Mary Anne Aytoun-Ellis and the poetry of Clare Best, is now on at the Tunbridge Wells Museum and Gallery. This magnificent exhibition showcases some of the work in our book, Springlines, which is out now.
Clare Best said: “Eleven of Mary Anne’s wonderful paintings are hung in the gallery, including the mighty Caballus who has never looked so completely at home, as though he might just step out of the frame and into the gallery, bringing the water with him, alongside fourteen of my poems for the project, but I’ve also written new work inspired by the area and these new poems are displayed here too.”
The exhibition runs until 14 October, and the museum is open from Tuesday to Saturday, from 9.30am to 5pm.
Clare will also be running a workshop on writing about place at the museum on Saturday 9th September – for more details contact the museum direct.
The show’s curator, Susie Plumb, will he holding a “Behind the scenes of Springlines ” guided tour on Wednesday 21 June at 2pm (free).
