LAURA BEATTY’s first novel, Pollard, won the Author’s Club First Novel Award in 2009 and was nominated for the Ondaatje Prize. She is married with three children and lives in the middle of Salcey, a medieval hunting forest in Northamptonshire. She has also written two biographies, the first about Lillie Langtry which contained the first publication of correspondence between Lillie and her lover Arthur Jones.
