IAN McMILLAN is a poet, playwright and the presenter of the BBC Radio 3 series, The Verb. Since drumming in Barnsley’s first folk-rock band and working in a tennis ball factory, he has been poet-in-residence at Barnsley Football Club and at the English National Opera, ‘Beat Poet’ for Humberside Police, and written many books, including Dad, the Donkey’s on Fire, I Found This Shirt, Talking Myself Home and Neither Nowt Nor Summat.
