Extracts from a Nature Journal by Alex Boon
Alex Boon’s nature journal follows the tradition of Edith Holden’s Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady, combining written descriptions of time spent out-of-doors with coloured pencil and ink drawings of the species, landscapes, and the changes from year to year and with the seasons. Alex has been keeping nature journals since 2016; this latest book covers the period of June 2019 to June 2021, reflecting the effect that the pandemic and its associated restrictions had on Alex and his relationship to nature.

Beautifully observed and illustrated. Lifts the heart.
How great to look at your work. Four years ago I had a stroke I am still able to use my right arm and hand to paint this gives me great pleasure. I have a very small balcony this is my only access to the outside side world , I used to love flowers bees birds and woods. But I am now no longer able to walk or go out side . I did have a black bird nesting and layed four eggs ,the joy it gave me watching the little fledgling and a sad day when they said goodbye this year two bluetits have had a look at my little bird box so I have my fingers crossed .please if you have a book for sale it would give me great joy to read it and be able to remember the walks I used to have Thankyou Val montgomery
